Manage keynote slides with DevonThink
and some other tools
During the last years, my focus shifted from hand surgery to artificial intelligence. I have been active in hand surgery for over 30 years as a surgeon, teacher, and scientist. My knowledge in machine learning has grown constantly since my 1999 PhD thesis on pattern recognition with neural networks. I am now a part time hand surgeon and a part time keynote speaker for AI and ML.
Knowledge and application of ML grows dynamically.
Two problems arise.
It’s difficult to capture all ideas for future presentations. First, if I come along with a new idea or an interesting application worth for a special presentation I want to save the idea.
Second, I already have many Keynote — presentations with similar and different slides. It’s difficult to keep the overview. Many of the presentations have different focus, e.g. basic principles of ML, decision making with ML or medical applications using ML. I collect scientific papers from Zotero. But a more optically based system for screenshots and images is missing.
There is no general Keynote database, which could give me an overview of all my slides and the possibility to tag and categorize them. I experimented with an extra presentation for gathering unused ideas and slides. Also…
